The Emotional Gap

Seeming “fine” but feeling a level of unrest, disconnect, and numbness.

You don’t have to "fix it"

on your own.

My name is Ann, and I provide therapy in NYC for adults feeling stuck in an internal cycle of thought that leaves them feeling anxious and exhausted, feeling hopeless that things could change.

I work with you to help you understand, identify, and untangle your patterns so that you can feel hopeful and empowered to live a life beyond worries and self-doubt.

My approach prioritizes your personal experience and needs to help you feel in control of yourself, navigating with more intention and feeling steadier within yourself.

Identity

& Sense of Worth

When who you are feels shaped by everyone but you.

How We'll Work Together

A peaceful sky with a bird in flight, representing the meaningful shifts and mental clarity achieved through therapy.

1. Start with a Consultation

No need to have the “right” words. We have a conversation about what you are struggling with, even if it feels unclear in the moment.

2. Sessions at Your Pace

We take it one step at a time, creating a “map” that will help you get from feeling stuck in a cycle to identifying new possibilities that help you move forward.

3. Changes That Last

We address the symptoms as well as the root of your experience to instill change beyond just management.

It means I prioritize the role that culture, family, and heritage play in your life. While I bring my own lived experience as a Korean American, I don’t assume I know your specific story. Instead, I provide a space where we can explore your unique family dynamics and identity together, without you feeling the need to “translate” the importance of these values.

If you’d like to learn a little more about my background and what brought me to this work, you’re welcome to visit the About page or read about different Areas of Support.

Yes, I offer virtual sessions in both English and Korean. If you feel more comfortable expressing yourself in Korean or find that certain feelings or experiences are easier in Korean (e.g., “it felt so frustrating”, “너무 답답했어요”), we can go between languages or combine both in session.

Not at all. While much of my work is centered on the nuances of Asian identity and family dynamics, I welcome people of all backgrounds.

My approach is rooted in understanding how your specific history, culture, and lived experience shape who you are today.
